Crazy quilts are named because of their "crazy" patchwork patterns. They are often made of satiny fabrics, such as silks, satin, velvet or taffeta, and often are embroidered.
These pieces are handsewn together with a herringbone top-stitch, but quilters often use their own creativity to stitch patchworks together.
These pieces have "Ceresota" flour sacks from the period as their backing.
