The 150th Birthday Commemorative Quilt project to celebrate the 150th Birthday of the Village of Monee. 1874-2024.
The quilt square is a railroad pattern with a nod to the settlement of the area due to the railroad from Chicago to southern Illinois. The quilt stitching is a custom pattern with a feather design to acknowledge the American Natives who originally settled in the area and Marie Bailly, who the town of Monee was named after. The brown tones of the quilt, along with the Village of Monee Commemorative Seal are the colors used in 2024 for the Village of Monee celebration.
